Oh HELL yeah!
Bionic eyes people! UCLA Docs completed the first clinical trials of bionic-implants to restore site to people blinded by disease. A small (4mmx5mm) implant is fitted over the retina and is connected via an implanted wireless receiver to two small digital video cameras that are worn in special glasses. The implants, "worked well enough to allow the blind to distinguish light from dark and even to see simple objects."
